Should conservative radio talk
show hosts "vet" their sponsors? |
|
Upset about the Rush
Limbaugh/Sandra Fluke
controversy and sponsors
abandoning Rush, my husband and
I did some research during the
week on Rush’s sponsors (most of
which he endorses on air), and
found what we consider to be
disturbing information. It
seems that the sponsor's
executives contribute heavily to
democrat candidates and far left
organizations. |
|
Now leads us to some
questions:
|
|
1. Are Rush and other
such hosts (Hannity, who
promotes MOZY on his show and is
featured with Mike Gallagher on
MOZY’s site) not aware that
these sponsors are big
Democratic donors?!
|
|
2. If Rush, Hannity,
Levin, and other talk show hosts
are aware of these sponsors’
politics, why are they taking
their money and promoting their
products, knowing their profits
will be used against
conservatives?! As Rush
always says, his goal is to
defeat liberalism. How does
helping increase the political
donations of left-wing radicals
do that?!
|
|
3. And if Rush isn’t
aware of his sponsors’ politics,
then why the heck isn’t he?!
Shouldn’t Rush and other
conservative hosts be
responsible and vet their
sponsors, if for no other reason
than to avoid any suggestion of
impropriety?! (Sleep Number Bed
has been a sponsor of Rush’s for
as long as I can remember! It
took us only 48 hours to
discover the far-left ideologies
of William McLaughlin, but Rush
hasn’t been able to do so for
the past 5-10 years?!)
|
|
4. Are there no
conservative CEO’s who would be
happy to advertise on Rush’s
show?
|
|
5. Or much worse (and
it sickens me even to suggest
it), the dirty little secret is
-- there exists an unethical,
incestuous business arrangement
between Rush and his far left
sponsors-- that in spite of
their opposing political
ideology, it’s as Rush says,
“always all about the money”!
|
|
I have compiled a summary of
contributions in the document
linked below. It has
sponsors that Rush personally
recorded commercials for plus
for MOZY which many bloggers
suggested moving to instead of
Carbonite. MOZY is owned
by VMWare and their CEO, Paul
Maritz, donates huge sums to
liberal candidates and
organizations. Be sure to
follow the link in the document
to MOZY's endorsement page and
read Sean Hannity & Mike
Gallagher recommendations

Summary
 |
|
The summary
only includes the CEO's but most
likely, other corporate officers
also made similar contributions
tto Democrats & liberal causes. |

Open Letter
sent to Congressman Renacci -
4/4/2011
 |
Congressman
Renacci,
 |
|
Thank you for
your meeting at Medina Hospital
on March 21. I appreciate your
effort to meet your constituents
and field our questions.
However, I am very, very
troubled by your lack of urgency
to significantly reduce the debt
and defund Obamacare. Your
claims that it cannot be done
because of House Rules, are
misleading. Those same rules
were waived over one hundred
times in the past. After all the
GOP campaign promises and now
having an opportunity to do so,
many of you Republicans still
refuse to defund Obamacare.
After so many broken promises in
such a short time, if Congress
were a private business instead
of government, the GOP would be
sued for breach of contract! And
please explain to me how is it
that Congresswoman Bachmann and
53 other Republicans saw fit to
vote against the Continuing
Resolution? |

2011 State
of the Union Address |
 |
|
When I heard about the
proposal for Democrats and
Republicans to be seated
together as opposed to opposite
sides of the aisle according to
tradition, I contacted Senator
Ron Portman of Ohio to encourage
him not agree to this. |
 |
|
Below is his response: |
 |
Dear Ellie,
Thank you for contacting me to
express your views on
bipartisanship, especially in
relation to the upcoming State
of the Union address. It is good
to hear from you.
Effective government depends on
public servants from both
parties working together to
solve problems for the people. I
plan to participate in the
bipartisan seating at the State
of the Union. It sends a
symbolic message that we need to
interact more across the aisle
and be less partisan, but much
more important than this
symbolic gesture will be the
willingness on the part of the
Administration and Members of
Congress to actually sit down
and try to find common ground on
tough issues like spending,
taxes and regulations to help
get Ohio and our nation back on
track.
I will continue to seek
opportunities to work in a
bipartisan way on policies that
create and foster an environment
that leads to job creation and
economic growth.
Thank you again for taking the
time to contact me. If you have
additional questions, please use
the contact form on my website
http://www.portman.senate.gov,
and I will look forward to
responding to you.
All best,
Rob Portman
U.S. Senator |

Never did I mention
bipartisanship. Needles to
say, I was upset with his
response so I sent him another
email regarding my feelings. |

|
| The United
States of America is a great
country and loved by many.
Many people believe that to be a
patriot, you need to have done
something extraordinary like
Paul Revere, George Washington
or other early Americans. As you
can see from the Webster
definition above, that is not
true. |
| All too often,
patriotism and being a patriot
is associated with a man and the
ladies are overlooked.
Sure, there was Betsy Ross and
??? Yet, a lady can be a
patriot if she fits the
definition. |
